أعلنت جامعة الدول العربية أنها
قد تبحث فكرة إرسال قوات عربية إلى سورية في اجتماعها القادم بناء على
اقتراح قدمته قطر. يأتي ذلك بعد إعلان الجامعة عن تعليق إرسال مراقبين
إضافيين إلى سورية بسبب فشل مهمّتهم
أصدر بشار الأسد مرسوماً تشريعياً جديداً يمنح العفو العام
عن الجرائم المرتكبة على خلفية الأحداث التي وقعت منذ تاريخ 15-3-2011
وحتى تاريخ اليوم ويشمل العفو "جريمة" التظاهر. تأتي هذه الخطوة من أجل
خداع المتظاهرين مجدداً لتسليم أنفسهم وكسب مزيد من الوقت مع الجامعة
العربية. ومما ينبغي ملاحظته أنّ العفو الجديد لن يشمل المتظاهرين
المحتجزين أو المخفيين لأنهم محتجزون من غير أمر توقيف ودون سجلات في فروع
الأمن. كذلك -فمثل العفو السابق- يتيح هذا العفو للنظام إطلاق سراح
المجرمين والمرتزقة من أجل تجنيدهم مع الشبيحة بعد اختفاء الكثيرين منهم
وقد خرجت مظاهرة حاشدة في ساحة الحرية في مدينة الزبداني،
وصلت الأعداد فيها إلى حوالي عشرة آلاف متظاهر لاستقبال وفد المراقبين
العرب بعد تعرض المدينة لحصار وقصف استمر لأكثر من ثلاثة أيام. وعاودت قوات
الأمن والجيش قصفها لمنطقتي مضايا والزبداني بشكل عشوائي بعد وقف عملياته
إثر زيارة وفد من مراقبي جامعة الدول العربية للزبداني
وقتلت قوّات الأمن 32 شخصاً على الأقل اليوم، معظمهم سقطوا
في حمص، وإدلب التي تجمّع فيها أكثر من عشرة آلاف متظاهر من كفرومة
لاستقبال وفد المراقبين العرب، حيث تدفق أهالي ريف معرة النعمان وثوار
منطقة الدير الشرقية للمشاركة في المظاهرة. وقد قامت قوّات الأمن بإطلاق
النيران على المتظاهرين لتفريقهم بعد خروج البعثة مما أدّى إلى مقتل وجرح
العديد. وقد انشق ضابط وجنود من سرية المدفعية بعد اشتباكات عنيفة أسفرت عن
تفجير دبابة

Arab League Might Send Troops to Syria, and Assad Issues Another Amnesty

since the beginning of the revolution to distract the Arab League and
show itself as in compliance.
Over ten thousand demonstrators took to the streets in the Damascus
suburb of Zabadani to welcome the Arab League’s Observers Mission, after
a three-day siege.
Assad’s forces killed at least 32 today; most fell in Homs and in Idlib
where more than ten thousand demonstrators gathered in Kafrouma to meet
the Observers Mission.

Summary of Events
Arab League announced it might discuss the idea of sending Arab troops
to Syria in its next meeting; the idea was first brought forth by Qatar.
This suggestion came after the Arab League decided not to send
additional Observers to Syria due to the ineffectiveness of their
efforts.
Bashar Assad issued a new presidential amnesty pardoning all crimes
committed since the beginning of the revolution in March 2011. It is
noteworthy that the last presidential amnesty was manipulated by the
regime to detain additional demonstrators and release criminals and
thugs to be recruited by the security forces. This amnesty is directed
at the “crime” of demonstrating and many expect it to be ineffective
especially that most detainees are locked up in secrete locations and
are invisible without any records or a court order.
Over ten thousand demonstrators took to the streets in the Damascus
suburb of Zabadani to welcome the Arab League’s Observers Mission, after
a three-day siege and heavy shelling of the city. Regime forces
continued their random heavy shelling of the city after the Mission
left.
Assad’s forces killed at least 32 today; most fell in Homs and in Idlib
where more than ten thousand demonstrators gathered in Kafrouma to meet
the Observers Mission. Residents of the nearby villages flocked to join
the demonstrations. Security forces opened fire at the demonstrators
after the Observers left, killing and wounding dozens. An officer and
several soldiers defected from an artillery squad stationed nearby after
clashing with Assad loyalists.
