إن المجلس الوطني السوري يُدين بشدة الهجوم الذي وقع على موكب المراقبين العرب في سورية يوم أمس الثلاثاء 10 كانون الثاني 2012. يأتي هذا بعد أيام من قرار الجامعة مواصلة عمل البعثة وفي نفس اليوم الذي ألقى فيه بشار الأسد خطابه الرابع مستهزئاً فيه بالجامعة العربية وببعثة المراقبين العرب

وقد أصيب أحد عشر مراقباً بجروح طفيفة عندما هاجم محتجون مُوالون للأسد موكب البعثة في اللاذقية.

ويعتبر المجلس الوطني أن هذا العمل الإجرامي يتصل حتماً بتهديدات وزير الخارجية السوري غير المباشرة قبل دخول المراقبين وبتحريض من خطاب الأسد الرابع الذي احتوى تهديداً مباشراً على الجامعة العربية. ويرى المجلس ضرورة توحيد الجهود لكشف الملابسات التي أدت إلى هذا الاعتداء ويدعو أيضاً كل الفئات الشعبية لأخذ الحيطة والحذر من محاولات النظام للإيقاع بين المراقبين والشارع الثائر

SNC Strongly Condemns the Attack on Arab League Observers' Convoy
 

The Syrian National Council (SNC) strongly condemns the attack on the Arab League observers’ convoy that occurred yesterday, Tuesday Jan. 10, 2012. This attack came only days after the Arab League decided to continue its observer mission in Syria, and took place the same day as Bashar Al-Assad’s fourth speech during which he verbally attacked the Arab League.

Eleven observers were slightly injured when pro-regime militias attacked the observers’ convoy in Lattakia.

The SNC considers this to be a criminal act, and an indirect outcome of the threats issued by Syria’s Foreign Minister immediately preceding the arrival of observers to Syria. We also consider this criminal act to be directly incited by Assad’s comments in his fourth speech, which included direct threats to the Arab League. The SNC believes it is necessary to unify efforts to expose the details of this attack, and calls on all groups to take extra precautions against the regime’s attempts to drive animosity and sow doubt between the population in revolt and the Arab League observers.
